Pioneers always strive for gold

In the European Union, feed additives are categorized in five groups. One of them, the zootechnical additives group, encompasses ‘feed additives favourably affecting the animal performance or the environment’.

In 2012, Delacon was the first company that received the zootechnical registration for a plant-based, phytogenic feed additive (Fresta® F for piglets). Recently, Delacon proved its pioneering status once more, as the company received the second zootechnical registration for their poultry product Biostrong®510 EC.

Consumer survey

"We all benefit from the science-based approval of all ingredients that enter the food chain," states Delacon CEO Markus Dedl.

Delacon recently published a consumer survey conducted in the United States that showed a  high acceptance of phytogenic feed additives among millennial foodies. Therefore, phytogenics can be seen as an untapped opportunity to use for differentation and as a purchase motivator.
