Growth performance in poultry

Did you know that up to 70% of poultry production costs are feed related? So, it´s obvious that the major focus for profitable poultry production is feed efficiency.

Improving nutrient utilization to optimize production performance in poultry is the most powerful success strategy in poultry production and still meets consumer demands and expectations from the market.

Efficiency – the key ingredient in poultry production

It is estimated that by 2050 the world's population will rise to around ten billion people - this will increase the demand for poultry meat and eggs by approximately 70%. The low cost of poultry meat and eggs along with the absence of religious restrictions make this relatively cheap animal protein source the primary choice for consumers and driver for growth in total meat production. Modern poultry production is a highly sophisticated, integrated industry and its success depends strongly on expert management and pinpoint nutrition. In addition to maintaining the best possible laying and growth performance, product quality and food safety of meat and eggs are crucial for long-term leadership of the protein market.

Did you know?

The industry’s standard to measure production efficiency in poultry is the feed conversion ratio (FCR), expressing the amount of feed consumed per flock divided by the amount of live weight or kg eggs produced during a full production cycle. The lower the number, the more efficient feed conversion is. Today, a standard broiler chicken reared under good management conditions will have an FCR between 1.5 to 1.7.  An FCR of 1.9 to 2.2 is common for laying hens.

Nutrient utilization is a prerequisite

Improving nutrient utilization and optimizing FCR in poultry is one of the most effective strategies to increase the profitability of poultry production. However, a variety of stressors affect gut health and nutrient utilization every day.

Balanced rations that supply the proper nutrient ratios per stage of production are a prerequisite for maintaining the consistent performance and stability of the digestive functions. The need-based formulation practices enable the efficient conversion of valuable nutritional components into best growth or laying performance. As such, the most effective strategy to reduce production cost and increase the profitability of poultry production is the improvement of nutrient utilization and the optimization of feed efficiency.

Phytogenic support for profitable poultry production:

Biostrongâ„¢ 510 - a phytogenic boost for best performance in poultry

  • Optimizes feed conversion ratio in broilers, promotes growth performance
  • Enhances egg mass and laying rate in layers

The power of nature - proven: Biostrongâ„¢ 510 allows safe and sustainable poultry production without the risk of residues in meat or eggs. Selected combinations of ingredients like essential oils, saponins, spices and bitter substances in Biostrongâ„¢ 510 contribute to improvements in feed efficiency and increased performance - thus reducing the production costs per kg of eggs or meat.

Nature works hard

Studies on broiler performance conducted with Biostrongâ„¢ 510 have shown improvements in feed conversion ratio (FCR) and enhanced body weight gain as compared to the same feed formulation but without Biostrongâ„¢ 510.

Studies on layer performance conducted with Biostrongâ„¢ 510 have shown an improvement of feed conversion ratio when compared to diets not supplemented with Biostrongâ„¢ 510.

Supplementing layers diet with Biostrongâ„¢ 510 can support laying rate.

Biostrongâ„¢ 510 can help to maintain consistent egg mass in laying hens.

Selected Delacon products may be used in organic production in accordance with Regulations (EC) No 2018/848. For more in depth information, please contact our Delacon expert.
