Since its beginning in 1988, Delacon has followed the vision of founder Helmut Dedl to pioneer a natural way to keep animal performing and healthy. He adamantly pursued alternatives for antibiotic and synthetical growth promotors that would ensure sustainable, profitable livestock production and food safety. With investment in research and development of plant-based feed additives, Delacon started to replace belief with fundamental knowledge. For this new and, up to this point, unknown category of feed additives, Delacon created its own market and coined the term 'phytogenic feed additives.'

Phytogenic feed additives are in a prime position to meet animal feeding challenges of today and tomorrow. What started as a niche market has grown into a market of global importance as animal agriculture responds to a public call for the responsible use of antibiotics, sustainable livestock production and consumer transparency. As the market segment rapidly expands, Delacon continues to be the global market leader.


From our standardized and modern production facility in Steyregg, Austria, we currently export our products to more than 80 countries worldwide. Delacon has a global team of more than 100 employees at 17 locations and cooperates with distribution partners around the world.


As a pioneer, we are never satisfied with the status quo and are therefore consistently working to further expand our global leadership in market presence as well as product development. How are these efforts visible? We are leading the conversations about phytogenics along the entire feed-to-food chain. Besides being in touch with distributors, feed manufacturers and producers, we are engaging with a relatively new group of stakeholders within this field – consumers


Moreover, we are continually investing in research and development - 10 percent of our turnover each year. Thirty years of pioneering work and persistence have paid off: Delacon is the first and only company with two zootechnical registrations for phytogenic feed additives. This authorization proves the efficacy as well as safety of our products, regarded as the gold standard in the industry.

Markus Dedl, CEO

In 2010, he took over the business from his father, company founder Helmut Dedl, for Delacon and all its subsidiaries. Under his leadership, the company realizes double-digit growth rates and has become the global leader in the promising market segment of phytogenic feed additives.

 

 

Joerg Niebelschuetz, Director of Operations and Finance

In December 2012, Joerg Niebelschuetz joined Delacon as Director of Operations and Finance. In this function, he has implemented a number of new processes in all areas of the company, particularly in the production (integrated production planning) but also in accounting and reporting. Moreover, he is responsible for economic strategy and forecasting, financial performance and timely and accurate reporting.

Stéphane Jolain, Director of Global Sales & Marketing

He has 20 years of experience in product management, international sales, and
marketing in the animal feed business. In 2010 Stéphane Jolain joined Delacon, where he leads a strong sales team located across the globe, and oversees all sales and marketing activities. Furthermore, he has been involved in business development of key markets, such as Brazil, China, and the USA.

 


Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis, Director of Products & Innovation

Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis started his career in poultry nutrition in 1987. Besides the publications of various scientific articles, he was consulting many nutritionists at feed mills during his professional career. He started as Species Leader Poultry at Delacon in 2014 and has become Director of Products & Innovation in 2015. Together with his robust and multinational team, Dr. Van der Klis is responsible for research and development as well as product management and customer technical service in poultry, swine, ruminants, and aquaculture.
